Bachelor of Education or B. Ed. as it is usually referred to is an undergraduate bachelor degree program offered by many universities/colleges across the country. The course is taken up by students who are interested in teaching. The course is a professional course and their minimum eligibility criterion is that the student must have completed their undergraduate degree course is any discipline.

The duration for the course is for two years as per the new rules. The course is also offered by many open universities and the duration through distance learning is for minimum two years and maximum five years.

In India, B. Ed. is a major prerequisite for any student to teach at the high school level. Also, the National Council for Teacher Education is the sole authority which is responsible for monitoring the study programs on education.

What is B. Ed. about?
