- Visit the official website- gate.iitk.ac.in 2023.
- Go to the results page and click on GATE Result.
- GOAPS portal for GATE would appear.
- Fill in the login details on the portal.
- Click on the submit tab.
- GOAPS candidate dashboard for GATE would open.
- Click on the results section.
- Your GATE Result will be displayed on the screen.
How many Candidates Qualify GATE Exam?
What is a good GATE score out of 100?
A good GATE score out of 100 varies for each branch. On average, a score above 80 can get a PSU for the post of Executive Trainee while scores between 75-90 can get M.Tech seat in top IIT or NIT.
What is GATE Score Validity?
GATE 2023 score validity is three years for M.Tech admission. However, GATE score validity for PSU is only one year from the day of issuance. Therefore, GATE 2023 Scorecard are valid till 2025 for M.Tech admissions while for PSU recruitment, the scorecard is valid only for 2023 recruitment process.

How to Challenge GATE 2023 Answer Key?
GATE 2023 answer key challenge window is going to remain open from Feb 22 to 25. To raise objections/ challenge the provisional GATE 2023 Answer Key, candidates need to pay INR 500 for each challenge.
GATE 2023 answer key challenge window is available at, gate.iitk.ac.in 2023 through GATE logging, GOAPS. If the challenge raised is found to be valid, the candidate is eligible for a refund of the processing fee paid during the challenge. If the objection raised is invalid, the processing fee of INR 500 paid is non-refundable.

GATE 2023 Response Sheet has been released on February 15, 2023. GATE 2023 responses can be accessed through the official website, gate.iitk.ac.in. Candidates can use GATE 2023 response sheet along with the answer key to predict their expected scores.

To download GATE 2023 response sheet, candidates need their GATE login ID and password.

GATE 2023 Counselling
IIT Kanpur will not organize any counselling process for M.Tech admissions. Candidates seeking admissions in IITs, NITs and other prestigious institutions will have to participate in counselling process conducted by separate bodies.
- For admissions into NITs candidates need to register for GATE CCMT Counselling. Usually, the counselling process starts in the month of April.
- For admissions into IITs, candidates need to register for GATE COAP Counselling. Aspirants will need to apply to individual institutes where admission is desired and eventually, register for Common Offer Acceptance Portal.
GATE CCMT 2023
- GATE CCMT refers to Centralized Counseling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Des.
- GATE CCMT is a centralized counselling process conducted for admission to participating NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and IIEST Shibpur.
- Candidates need not apply to desired NIT separately.
- Candidates with a valid GATE score card (2021/2022/2023) can register for CCMT 2022.
- GATE CCMT Cutoff for NITs is released by the organizing institute in the form of opening and closing ranks.

GATE COAP 2023
- COAP refers to Common Offer Acceptance Portal. GATE COAP 2023 is a window where all Participating Institutes / PSU's upload their admission/ job offers. The registrations usually start right after the declaration of the result.
- Candidates with a valid GATE score (qualified in 2023/ 2022/ 2021) are eligible to apply for the exam.
- Under COAP 2023, the seats are offered based on GATE scores, cut off, and the preferences filled by the candidate.
- Candidates who wish to accept the seats need to complete the process by logging in to the institute portal, submit fees, and the mandatory documents.
- Unlike GATE CCMT, candidates who register for COAP 2023 also need to individually apply to the desired IIT for M.Tech admission.

Admission to Foreign Universities through GATE Scores
Along with Indian universities, some Universities in Germany and Singapore also offer admission in M.S or Ph.D. degrees based on GATE scores. These universities offer MS and Ph.D. in different specializations like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Surveying, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Applied Geophysics, Automotive Engineering, etc.

Study Abroad through GATE: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying to universities in Germany or Singapore are offered admissions mainly in research-based programs. Candidates must fulfill the country-wise and course-wise eligibility criteria for each of the universities. The basic eligibility criteria for Indian candidates applying at these foreign universities accepting GATE scores are as follows:
- Candidates whose native language is not English also need to appear for English proficiency tests such as TOEFL or IELTS depending on the university/ country/ course requirements.
- Candidates must also secure at least 90 percentile in GATE exam.
- Candidates should have scored good GPA/ percentage in Bachelor’s degree (at least second class honors).

GATE 2023 Application Form window is now closed. GATE exam registration are open through GATE Login- GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) on the official website. Women/ SC/ ST/ PwD candidates must pay INR 1550 as the application fee while all the other candidates are required to pay INR 2200 late fee online.
GATE 2023 Admit Card
GATE 2023 Admit Card has been released on January 9, 2023. Candidates can download the admit card through GOAPS using their login credentials such as application number and password. The admit card includes various details about GATE 2023 exam such as the name and roll number of the candidates, exam date, exam center, etc. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination center without the admit card and valid photo ID proof.

Ques. What is GATE 2023 result date?
Ans. GATE 2023 result date is March 16, 2023. Candidates can check GATE 2023 result on the official website, gate.iitk.ac.in.
Ques. Who is eligible to download GATE 2023 scorecard?
Ans. Candidates who have qualified GATE 2023 cut off are eligible to download scorecard. Those who fail to clear the cut off can check their result though GATE 2023 login, GOAPS but will not be able to download scorecard.
Ques. What is the total score of GATE exam?
Ans. Total score for GATE exam is 100 marks. The exam is conducted online for three hours with 65 questions.
Ques. What is GATE 2023 Cut off?
Ans. GATE 2023 Cut off is expected to be between 25-30 for CSE, 25-30 for ECE, 32-36 for mechanical, and between 25-33 for EEE and Civil. GATE 2023 Cut off is going to be released along with the declaration of result on March 16.
Ques. Will I get the same college as predicted by Collegedunia’s GATE College Predictor?
Ans. GATE College Predictor is a tool uses data based on the previous year cut off and ranks. The list of colleges predicted using Collegedunia's College Predictor will help candidates narrow down their search at the time of admission. However, since there might be a ±5 difference in the cut off as it changes every year, the same will affect the results in GATE College Predictor. Ques. What is considered to be a good rank in GATE exam?
Ans. For admission to top IITs, GATE rank below 200 can be considered as a good GATE rank. However, candidates with rank ranging from 600-800 can also get admission to IITs and IIITs. For admission to NITs, GATE rank ranging from 350-800 can be considered good.
Ques. What is the difference between GATE Marks and Scores?
Ans. GATE Marks are the actual marks/ raw marks scored by candidates calculated out of 100 in the exam. On the other hand, GATE Scores are the normalized score calculated out of 1000 on the basis of GATE Normalization Process. Check GATE Score Calculation
Ques. Why is GATE exam for?
Ans. GATE exam is conducted for students to test their knowledge in subjects like engineering and sciences. The exam scores are used by various institutes for admission to M.Tech and PhD programs at IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs and GFTIs. Some of the top international universities also accept GATE scores for study abroad options in Germany and Singapore. GATE scores are also used by multiple PSUs to recruit entry-level engineers for various trainee positions. Some of the top PSUs recruiting GATE-qualified candidates are IOCL, GAIL, BHEL, DRDO, NTPC, etc.
Ques. Is GATE and JEE the same?
Ans. GATE and JEE are two different-level exams. GATE is a graduate-level national level exam conducted for admission to M.Tech/ PhD courses at IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Meanwhile, JEE is an undergraduate-level national level entrance exam conducted for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning courses at IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

Ans. GATE scores are used for a number of reasons. Some of the important reasons include:
- Admission to M.Tech/ ME courses at top IITs and NITs in India
- Recruitment to one of the PSUs such as IOCL, DRDO, NTPC, BPCL, BARC, BHEL, etc.
- Admission to PG courses at International Universities such as the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological Univeristy, Singapore, Technical University of Munich, Germany and RWTH Aachen, Germany.

Ques. Do IIT students give GATE?
Ans. IIT students with a good CGPA score might be exempted from GATE exam while applying for IIT M.Tech program. Candidates applying for M.Tech admissions at IIT need not appear for GATE exam provided they have completed their B.Tech from one of IITs with a minimum CGPA of 8.5. Candidates who have completed MBBS might also be exempted from appearing for GATE exam provided they also meet the minimum marks required for M.Tech admission at IIT. The minimum CGPA might also be different for each of the IITs offering an M.Tech program.

Ans. GATE 2023 consists of a total of 29 papers. Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering(NM) have been added to the exam list last year.
Ques. What is the pattern for GATE exam?
Ans. GATE exam is conducted online as a computer-based exam. The exam is conducted for 29 papers including CSE, ECE, ME, CE, EEE, etc. Each question paper consists of 65 questions carrying 100 marks. Each paper in GATE exam can be divided majorly into two sections General Aptitude (with 10 questions carrying 15 marks) and Subject-specific section (with 55 questions carrying 85 marks). The questions asked are in the form of MCQs, MSQs and NATs carrying 1 or 2 marks each. There is also a negative marking for MSQs and NATs. Ques. How many GATE papers can I write?
Ans. You can sit for either one or two GATE papers. Each candidate can select a second preference of GATE paper from the pre-defined Two-Paper Combination released by the authorities. For example, a candidate applying for Computer Science and Information Technology as their primary paper can also register for EC, GE, MA, PH or ST paper as provided in the list of GATE 2023 two-paper combination list.
Ques. What is the syllabus for GATE exam?
Ans. GATE 2023 syllabus is based on topics from General Aptitude and Core Discipline. The general aptitude section is common among all GATE 2023 syllabus PDF carrying a weightage of 15 marks meanwhile, the core discipline syllabus carries a weightage of 85 marks. Candidates can use GATE syllabus PDF links given in the section above to download important topics and sub-topics.
Ques. Is GATE 2023 compulsory for all engineers?
Ans. No. AICTE has not yet announced any update on GATE being a mandatory exit exam for engineers. However, B.Tech graduates seeking M.Tech admission to IITs and NITs are required to appear for GATE 2023. Additionally, GATE scores are also required to get M.Tech admission along with a government scholarship/ stipend.
Ques: Will the questions be repeated from the previous year examinations in GATE 2023?
Ans: Generally, questions are not repeated in GATE exam. However, the basics or foundation of a question might be the same as in previous year GATE Question Papers. Ques: How many papers a candidate can apply for in GATE 2023?
Ans: Candidates can apply for any two of the 29 papers listed in the GATE Information Brochure. A candidate is required to choose the first paper (primary paper) as per his/her qualifying degree/ discipline. The second paper can be chosen from among the list of secondary paper choices for the primary paper, as given in the GATE Information Brochure.
Ques: Can I change my exam city after the submission of my GATE 2023 Application Form?
Ans: Yes. You can seek a change of examination city after the successful submission of GATE 2023 Application Form. Candidates can make changes to their GATE 2023 Exam Center through the form corrections window with a fee payment of INR 500. However, the provision would only be allowed during GATE Form Correction and no changes in the application form after the Form Correction period would be allowed.
Ques. Is there any negative marking in GATE 2023?
