Bachelor of Hotel Management or BHM is an undergraduate course introducing students to the fundamentals and different facets of the hospitality sector. For securing an admission in BHM, the basic eligibility criteria 10+2 pass in any stream. The duration of this course varies from 3-4 years depending on college.
The tuition fee for the entire duration of the course is between INR 220,000 to 430,000 in government institutions while that in private colleges may go up to INR 1,000,000.
With a BHM degree, one can choose from plenty of job profiles in both private and public sector. Some of the designations suitable for a Hotel Management graduate are hotel managers, air hostesses, flight stewards, consultants to hotels, restaurant managers, event organizers among others. The duration for Bachelor of Hotel Management varies across colleges from three to four years. GD Goenka School of Hospitality offers this degree in three years whereas as Welcomgroup School of Hotel Administration offers the BHM degree in four years. The course usually has six to eight semesters. Most colleges have semester mode barring a few colleges like GD Goenka School of Hospitality that follow an annual mode. Students are also expected to do internships.
