Diploma in Dermatology: Admission process

Diploma in dermatology admissions is based on Entrance tests that are conducted at national and state levels. Students need to pass the common medical PG entrance exam and few colleges conduct their entrance exam to allot seats to students.

Merit-based Admissions

You can apply for a diploma in dermatology course through online mode. Colleges allot seats according to scores obtained in the overall academic career of the student.

Diploma in Dermatology: Eligibility

• Students who wish to pursue Diploma in Dermatology should hold an MBBS degree with a year of internship.
• Students should hold class 10th certificate and class 12 certificate with Science, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects.
• 50% marks in class 12th as well as in MBBS course is also compulsory for admissions.

Entrance based admissions

Students need to attend the qualifying exam to get admission into the college. If the candidate cracks the entrance test then he will be asked to attend the next round of selection.

Diploma in dermatology: Entrance Exams 

• AIIMS PG: It is conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. It is conducted for admissions into various courses like MD, MS, DM, etc. It is conducted twice a year and people who are interested to continue their future studies appear for this exam.
• NEET PG: NEET-PG stands for National Eligibility cum entrance test postgraduate and it is administered by the National Board of examinations. This exam is conducted for admissions into various specializations for medicine and students appear for this exam to pursue a specialization in medicine.
• JIPMER PG: This exam is conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry. It is conducted twice a year for admissions to UG and PG medical and paramedical courses.
• PGIMER Entrance Exam: It is conducted and Controlled by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. It is generally conducted for admissions to various post-graduation courses in medicine.

How to Prepare for the Entrance Exams?

• Preparing for NEET is the toughest job for MBBS candidates and it is the only procedure for students to get into PG diploma courses.
• NEET PG is an online examination and this exam tests your knowledge on the subject from the past 6 years of medicine.
• Students need to focus on not making mistakes while opting for the wrong answer. Focus on the questions and try to give correct answers as it includes negative marking too.
• As per the latest updates, there are 16 subjects and NEET candidates need to prepare all the subjects to gain a good score.
• Subjects like surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, and Anesthesia are mainly focused, and most of the questions are from these subjects.
