But as far as Communications Engineering is concerned, you will be allowed to appear for placement drives held by semiconductor companies with B.Tech students.  There are quite a few companies that prefer Communications students over VLSI. Many students end up being placed in dream semiconductor companies. Out of say, 35 students, only 1 or 2 are not placed. The placements are definitely improving over the years. Ans. For admission into M.Tech ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar, students are shortlisted on the basis of their GATE score. This institute conducts a written test and an interview to select the shortlisted student for admission. Before the interview, the selected candidates need to appear in a written test, and only those who pass the test are considered eligible for the interview. There is no negative marking in the test and the subjects covered for ECE are Communications, Signals, EMT, Digital, Analog, EDC, and Maths. The pattern of the written test is as follows: 35 questions for 90 minutes. 1-20 questions which are 1 mark questions. 21-35 questions which are 2 marks questions The result of the written test is declared within one hour of the exam. And, the selected students are required to go through an interview in order to get admission. You may have the interview on the same day or the day after the written test. The interview takes about 15-20 minutes and the interview panel will have at least 4 members. Questions asked during the interview are mostly from your B Tech project, your choice of subject. If you get selected, the institute will let you know via email after a few days.Read more

Ans. IIT BHU faculty for M.TEch ECE is good. The faculties are well experienced. Most of the faculty members have their Ph.D. The HOD of ECE department is Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra. He has many publications to his name.  The faculties have received many awards. Dr. Somak Bhattacharyya who teaches Microwave Engineering, Metasurface, Terahertz, was selected for the IEEE UP Section Young Professional Star for the month of February 2021. Prof Satyabrata Jit was included on the editorial board of IETE Journal of Research. These are some of the many achievements of the faculty members of IIT BHU ECE department.Read more
