Since establishment, Kempten University of Applied Sciences has been growing gradually. Currently, there are around 6,257 students enrolled in 21 Bachelor and 14 Master courses. The university also offers part-time certificate courses. The university has a total of six faculties- Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, IT, Social and health, and Tourism Management. - Except for Mechanical Engineering, all other Bachelor programs start only in the winter semester.
- Mechanical Engineering starts in both winter and Summer Sessions.

- The study places for admission-restricted courses are allocated apart from a few special quotas via grade, waiting time, and a so-called "occupational quota".
- For the restricted admission courses, the application process ends on August 20, 2020.

For foreign applicants, the recognition of certificates by uni-assist is advised, but not mandatory.
English Language Requirements for International Students
Master in Mechanical Engineering requires the following English language certificate-
- If students have a degree in an English-language course of study or have a minimum grade of 2.5 during their studies in a regular compulsory English subject, they do not need to submit an English language certificate.
- Master's degree in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership
- Level B2 English skills in all sub-skills
- All other degree programs do not require an English language proficiency certificate.
German Language Requirements for International Students
- Students have to submit their German language certificate either at the time of enrollment or at the beginning of the course.
- The accepted scores of tests for studying in Germany are as follows:
- The German language diploma: Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz – Zweite Stufe
- The DSH-Exam, (Certificate on the examination of German for university admission of foreign study applicants) : Level 2
- The TestDaF (Test of German as a foreign language): Level TDN 3 in all test sections (“ALTE” level “Stufe 3”)
- The Assessment Test (“Feststellungsprüfung”): If any applicant’s certificates are assessed as not sufficient, they are required to attend the “Studienkolleg”, which leads to the Feststellungsprüfung (Assessment Test), which includes an accepted German test as well.
- International students can take the German courses “German as a foreign language” with language levels A1 to B1-B2. The language level is assessed by the onDaF test.

The institute offers conditional and unconditional offers both. The students are advised to submit all documents before the deadlines. If you have failed to download a required document during the online application, you can do so using the download module. The application process has 3 steps, online registration, completion of written application and submitting documents. Once the student receives offer from the institute, the next is acceptance process. In the case of admission-free courses, the students will have to log into the personal application portal and complete the online enrollment for the course no later than the date specified in the admission offer. The function will be available in the application portal from July 1st (in the afternoon). As an applicant ("freshman") for admission-restricted courses, the candidate first needs to accept the admission offer via the DoSV and then manage the online enrollment on the application portal. Please note that only acceptance via DoSV is not sufficient.

Ans. Students can found any missing documents and the processing status at any time on the applicant portal.
Ques. When will students be informed about their admission?
Ans. For the courses with restricted admission , the admission offers are shown at hochschulstart.de at the beginning of August while for the free degree programs, students will receive the admission offer online only after processing of application documents along with all supporting documents.
Ques. Is there in-house accommodation at Kempten?
Ans. There is no on-campus housing facility. However, there are several dormitories in close proximity to the University. The monthly rent including heat ranges from 200 to 270 Euros, depending on outfit and size. Students are recommended to book a place as early as possible. There are also private rooms and apartments. The Studentenwerk Augsburg offers private accommodation service.
Ques. Until when the students can submit their certificates for admission?
Ans. For Bachelor degree, students must submit it by July 27 whereas, for Master degree programs, the certificates must be made available within the end of the first semester.
Ques. How much chance students have to get a study place?
Ans. In the free degree programs, students will immediately receive an admission offer regardless of their GPA. For restricted admission programs, it can’t be ascertained.
