Chemistry is an experimental natural science that deals with the structure, composition, properties, and conversion of substances. The boundaries to the neighboring scientific and technical disciplines are blurred; this applies in particular to mathematics, physics, biology, and pharmacy. In addition to the scientific methods, the course also teaches the ability to act responsibly, particularly with regard to the effects of technological change.

There is no tuition fees. The semester fee for the winter semester 2019/20 is € 328.00.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Following are the requirement for the program:
- The main requirement for admission to University Hamburg is the Abitur (German secondary school leaving certificate) or other proof of higher education entrance eligibility.
- The German language is required.
