It is an interdisciplinary course that combines the content of a natural science course in physics with engineering aspects of electrical engineering. The course consists of a combination of courses, as well as practical and research-related parts, which train the students in a targeted and focused manner for independent research in the field of optical technologies. Based on the exemplary treatment of the basics and applications based on the future-oriented research areas in Paderborn, broad applicability of the graduates is achieved in many areas of modern optical technologies and optoelectronic information processing. The course content is offered entirely in English.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Degree in a bachelor's degree in physics or electrical engineering or a comparable degree from other universities with a final grade of 3.0 or better. For electrical engineers and other applicants with a first degree in an engineering degree course, in particular proven basic knowledge in quantum mechanics is required.
