In philosophy we break with the expectation that there is a quick and general answer to every question. Instead, we reflect on the background of ethical and scientific developments in a present that presents itself without alternative and counter the heterogeneity of the questions with a variety of methods and perspectives.
Existing concepts are analyzed in terms of their methodological and content structure, and better justifications are demanded or developed. In theoretical philosophy, we develop critical and constructive skills with regard to scientific progress.

Admission requirements are the successful completion of the two-subject bachelor's program at the University of Paderborn with the subject philosophy or a comparable degree that includes the following competencies:

Know and apply the basics of practical philosophy
Know and apply the basics of theoretical philosophy
Know and apply philosophical anthropology and cultural philosophy
Know and apply ethics and social philosophy
Know and apply scientific theory and epistemology.
