Admission requirements: An applicant must meet the following requirements to complete the application process-
- Official Transcripts: the University of Rostock requires all its applicants to submit their official transcripts translated either into German or English. All official transcripts must be duly attested.
- These attestations have to be made by any official authority that carries an official seal including administrative bodies, notaries, municipal administration, churches, German diplomatic missions or embassies to name a few.
- Proof of Pre-check: This applies only to applicants hailing from China, Vietnam, and Mongolia where the applicants have to submit a proof of pre-check of the German embassy
- Curriculum Vitae: The applicants are required to submit a well-updated curriculum vitae during the admission process
- Proof of payment of uni-assist: The application process remains incomplete if the application fee for the uni-assist is not paid and the proof of the payment has to be submitted as a final step of the application process
University of Rostock Language Proficiency Requirements
All international students are required to prove their proficiency in German and English on a certain level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ( CEFR ). Although the University of Rostock recommends all its prospective students to have German skills, applicants who enroll themselves in courses instructed in English are exempted from this.

The deadline for application for a majority of the programs is July 15 of every academic year. All the applicants should note that the University of Rostock does not accept more than one application. In case of submission of multiple applications, the university considers the last application applied before the deadline as the only application.
