CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test, which is a mandatory component of the Civil Services Examination and serves as a screening test for the Civil Services Main Examination, which is held every year by the Union Public Service Commission of India. Civil Services Preliminary Examination is another name for it.

They'll use CSAT 2014 as an example. The level of CSAT in 2014 was a huge improvement over previous years. For hopefuls, even achieving 100 appeared to be a challenging challenge. The CSAT Preliminary is merely a qualifying examination. The overall weight age is based on GS Paper-I. CSAT sessions begin a few weeks following General Studies (Paper-I) classes to allow applicants to become comfortable with the exam and its format. The Paper-II Course takes roughly three months to complete.
