NTSE stands for National Talent Search Examination. It is an exam that is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Class 10 students can write this exam. The Examination mainly consists of two parts, Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT). Selected students are awarded with monthly scholarship from class 11 onwards for pursuing courses in the sciences and social sciences up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second degree level.
