The Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology started in the year 2006 with an intake of 60 and progressing with an intake of 120 from the year 2007, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai . Since its establishment, department prepares technocrats to be competitive and best in class to join in the global industry. The Department is progressing with best laboratories covering core areas like Aero-Design, Structures, Propulsion, Aerodynamics and Systems to mould the students with broad skillset in the research, design, development, implementation and operation of aircraft, aero vehicles and related engineering systems.
