The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE Exam) is a computer based test  jointly conducted by Indian Institute of Science and other seven Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) at Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee on behalf of National Coordination Board (NCB).
