The College Board, a corporate, not-for-profit entity in the United States, operates, creates, and publishes the SAT. The Educational Testing Service, which also established the SAT until recently, administers it on behalf of the College Board. The aim of the test is to determine whether or not students are college-ready. The SAT was not initially intended to be consistent with high school curricula, but some changes were made for the 2016 edition, and College Board president David Coleman said that he wanted the exam to better represent what students study in high school with the current Common Core principles.
