Studying the theories and procedures of library management is part of the multidisciplinary area of library science. Education, administration, and information technology are the three main fields to which library science is most closely related.
A postgraduate degree program in library sciences is called MLib, or Master of Library Science. At several Indian universities and colleges, the course is available as a full-time or part-time (distance learning) program. For students who want to pursue jobs in research or education, the course acts as a foundation. Candidates who want to seek work can, nevertheless, take advantage of the course's attractive career options.
MLib course admissions are mostly based on entrance tests taken at the university/college level. However, some universities also provide direct admission to students based on merit, which is established by the marks obtained by applicants in the qualifying test.
