There are many factors such as It is in Europe which is overall beautiful. The Ph.D. is funded and the scholarship covers all the expenses. Less work pressure as compared to the PhDs in USA and Canada.

Course Curriculum

9

Yeah, the Course Curriculum and academics are way better here. The courses are relevant and abreast with the latest knowledge. There are many events being organized by industries and Universities related to talks, jobs, and internship opportunities.

Exams

I think the applicant needs to show TOEFL or IELTS with a minimum number of marks in each section as per the University's requirements.

Placement

9

UCD has a separate organization that keeps on posting the latest jobs and opportunities. I would advise keeping an eye on this for open positions.

Internship

I haven't yet opted for the internship yet.

Events

UCD provides one of the best infrastructures. There are so many student clubs that students can join as per their interests. Almost all the sports facilities are here such as a gym, swimming pool, hockey, football, badminton, tennis, etc to name a few.

Fees

My Ph.D. year is a 4-year program where the annual fee is 14000 Euros. But in my case, this is all covered as part of the scholarship.

Scholarship

Yes, I have received a scholarship of 18500 Euros annually. For me, there was no such external process. It's a structured program where it was mentioned in advance the total funding available to the applicant.

Faculty

9

Faculties at UCD are approachable and well-versed here. They know their area quite well. There is no Sir culture unlike in India.

Hostel

Well, Dublin is one of the most expensive places in the world to live. But nonetheless, if the applicant is single or doesn't plan to bring his/her spouse the scholarship amount is enough for the living expense. Also, campus accommodation is more expensive than living off campus.
