Universiti Tenaga Nasional is a private institute established by Tenaga Nasional Berhad. It has a total strength of 5,251 students, out of which 469 international students are seeking to study in Malaysia. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, foundation, and research programs in Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, Economics and Business. International students can apply via. university online mode for any of the courses.

Candidates are required to post necessary documents to the ‘Marketing & Corporate Communications Department’ within 1 week of submission of the application. A registration fee of RM 3,000 must be paid on acceptance of the offer to confirm the seat. Academic transcripts, visa, LOR, SOP, and IELTS score of 5.0 are assessed at the time of admission. A CGPA of 2.50 is essential to enroll in any PG program. Offer letter is shared via. email to within a week if selected. Status of admission and visa approval letter can be tracked on the university’s online portal.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional Admission Deadlines

The intake sessions are the same for undergraduate and postgraduate programs; however, the application deadlines of Malaysian Universities for domestic and international vary. Students may seek admission at the UNITEN till the below deadlines:

Universiti Tenaga Nasional Undergraduate Admissions

Students can choose from over 18 UG programs at UNITEN from the subject areas of Engineering, Technology, Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics and Marketing. Students should prepare all the documents ahead of time to avoid delay in the admission process. It is important that students complete the applications at least 4 months prior to the intake deadline.

Visa Process for International Applicants

The candidates must have a valid Malaysian student visa while applying for UNITEN. Only students who have received an offer letter from a public university or a private higher education institution are eligible to apply. Candidates must submit the following documents along with the visa application form:

Copies of passport-sized photograph
Three copies of the passport (all pages)
Coppers of the offer letter
Receipt of Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) fees and application processing fees
Pre-medical Examination report
Candidates must download the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) from the official website of ‘Education Malaysia’.
Fill in the form and submit it by the stipulated date.
Malaysian Immigration Department checks all the documents and approves the VAL.

English Language Requirements

The English Language requirement is the same for admission to all UNITEN programs for students who are not a native speaker of English. The college set the minimum score for admission, have a look below:

Universiti Tenaga Nasional Graduate Admissions

Candidates must apply online through the online application portal for postgraduate admissions, i.e. the ‘Postgraduate Online Application System (PGAPPS). All the documents should be saved in PDF format and then uploaded along with the application. Once it is accepted the offer of admission is sent to the applicant via email.

Applicants must attach three copies of each document and certified copies of transcripts. International applicants must submit two letters of recommendation as well. All the forms are available on the university’s website. Admission Requirements for a few of the most sought after courses are specified in the table given below.
