To preserve marine biodiversity and its ecosystem functions, innovative and sustainable solutions are necessary. Therefore, there is a need for young professionals who know how to take an integrative approach to marine ecosystems management.

The programme at starts with courses that will give you a common basis on aquaculture and marine resources management.?Then you chose one of three specialisations in which you will take deepening courses that will prepare you for your thesis.

In the Academic Consultancy Cluster you will share (interaction) and intergrade your knowledge with (the knowledge of) other students in multidisciplinary teams.

Future career - Aquaculture and Marine Resource ManagementProfessional

As a professional, you usually work in multidisciplinary teams for aquaculture and fisheries companies, feed producers, public aquaria in zoo?s or in ornamental fish production and husbandry.

Consultant

You can work as a consultant or as policy advisor for multilateral, national and regional governmental agencies or NGO?s (World Bank, FAO, ministries, provinces, water boards, WWF, the North Sea foundation, and many others).

Moreover, at private companies there is an increasing demand for production chain management (e.g. Aholt, Heiploeg).

Researcher

If you are interested in research, then you can choose universities or research institutes as your future professional environment.

Working abroad
