Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have passed 12 years of schooling and an overall average of
- 75% with a minimum of 60% in English from All-India Senior School Certificate or India School Certificate (ISC) OR;
- Have an overall average of 80% with a minimum of 65% in English from one of the following state board Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Higher (Secondary) School Certificate and Karnataka Pre-University Certificate OR;
- Have completed One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised university in India with a current NAAC accreditation of B or better
- Prior knowledge of Economics including History and English is recommeded
- Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
- Submission of SAT and ACT exam scores are not mandatory in New Zealand Universities.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students required to passed Class 12th with a percentage of 70-72% (Major), 78-82% (Honours) from one of the following boards:
- All India School Certificate (CBSE)
- Indian School Certificate (CISCE)
- If English is not the students’ first language then they must provide proof of English competency.

Graduates in Economics find employment in many areas of government and business, where it is recognized that an economist's education provides valuable specialist training for a professional career as well as good general preparation and background for an executive, entrepreneurial, or administrative career.
The increasingly large volume of information available to decision-makers has created a demand for people with well-developed quantitative analysis skills, such as those developed in econometrics.
Professional economists are employed to conduct research and give advice on economic matters in various organizations such as government ministries and state-owned enterprises (eg, Kaitohutohu Kaupapa Rawa | Treasury, Manat? Hauora | Health, Te Manat? Whakahiato Ora | Social Development, Manat? Ahu Matua | Primary Industries, and Manat? Aorere | Foreign Affairs and Trade). Graduates also find work in marketing organizations, Te P?tea Matua | Reserve Bank, Tatauranga Aotearoa | Stats NZ, trading and merchant banks, stockbroking, insurance, trade commissions, local authorities, market research and other consultancies, and large businesses.
