The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music offers the opportunity to combine study in music with courses from other BA subjects and across the wider university. The Music major lets you explore music from a range of perspectives: cultural, historical, critical, technical, and creative. You can combine music courses in ways that suit your interests, so that you can explore the ways in which music interfaces with other areas of study, both within the BA and beyond it.

The BA in Music is distinguished from the Bachelor of Music (BMus), in which music is the main focus of study. Gain skills valuable in any workplace?studying for a BA develops your creativity, flexibility and imagination, and teaches you how to think critically and present an argument. You'll also develop research skills and learn to communicate complex ideas in both speech and writing.
