Six Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and three central universities have secured their positions among the top 500 universities in QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022, declared today, on September 23, 2021.
IIT Bombay stood at the top position amongst Indian institutions in the ranking. At the same time, three central universities namely, Delhi University, University of Calcutta, and University of Mumbai have made it to the top 500 positions. OP Jindal Global University, Sonepat and BITS Pilani are among the private universities in the list.

As per reports, this year 12 Indian Institutes have secured positions in the top 550 band in QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022. Check detailed ranking below:

IIT Bombay has been constantly rising to the top 100 institutes in the list of world's top institutions for the career-oriented students. The institute has moved from 111 - 120 to 101 - 110 band. This shows that IIT Bombay is the leader amongst other institutions with strongest employment opportunities.
In the same way, IIT Delhi has steadily jumped from 151-160 to 131-140 band, while IIT Madras has risen from 171-180 to 151-160 band. Out of the total 12 institutions, four institutions have progressed from last year. In contrast, the other four institutions have either declined or remained in a stable position.
In the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022, IIT Roorkee and OP Jindal Global University have newly featured on the list. While central universities like Delhi University, Mumbai University, and Calcutta University have also made their presence in the list.
On this occasion, London based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) have stated in its website that the world is still recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic impact, and the importance of acquiring skills and qualities required by modern employers has never been greater. Further, every university ranked in the rankings has demonstrated their ability to produce graduates with the 'soft skills' required for the modern workplace.
Keeping in mind the competition for graduate roles across the globe, the students should be seriously taking into account how their respective university will help them prepare for full-time employment, by connecting them with global employers and ensuring they gain necessary skills and knowledge, the note added.
QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022
In order to determine employability rankings of higher education institutions around the world, QS considers how the institutions are reputed among employers, whether these institutions are fostering high-achievers, how institutions are connected to companies and how recent graduates of the institution are attractive to employers.
QS have calculated the scores for GER 2022, considering the following indicators and weightings such as 30% of Employer reputation, 2 % alumni outcomes, 10% employer-student connections, 25% partnership with employers per faculty, and 10% graduate employment rate.
