New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore's Business Management Programme for Defence Officers has been successfully completed by 60 officers from the Defense Forces.
A four-faculty team at IIMB, consisting of Prof. G Shainesh (Marketing), Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan (OB&HRM), Prof. Padmini Srinivasan (Finance), and Prof. P D Jose, served as the program's anchor (Strategy). Major General Sharad Kapur, YSM, SM, Director General, Resettlement, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, presented the certificates. For retiring officers of the Indian Defense Forces and the Short Service Commission (SSC), it is a certificate programme. By enhancing their basic business and general management competences, this curriculum assists in imparting the skills and information required for officers to make the transition to corporate jobs. The EGMP programme at IIM Bangalore and IIMBx's Massive Open Online Courses served as the foundation for the program's design (MOOCs).
The six-month course was given in a hybrid format, combining on-campus lectures by IIMB professors with self-paced online learning through MOOCs from IIMBx, the organization's digital learning arm. The officers took part in various role-plays, case studies, discussions, exchanges with business professionals, etc.
