New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is inviting postgraduate (PG) students and teachers to translate SWAYAM online courses into 12 regional languages.
AICTE has announced that an amount of INR 3,500 per hour per course for one language of the translation script has been fixed. The council has also informed that a total of 80 Online courses are to be translated. SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students through the digital revolution and translation of the courses will expand the reach of these courses to a larger audience.

The council will pay the amount as an honorarium to the translators for translating the online courses into the specific language of their choice.

Interested candidates must note that upon successful translation of a course, the translators will also be awarded a “Certificate of Appreciation”. The translator can choose a specific language of their choice out of 12 different Indian regional languages to translate the course.
AICTE SWAYAM Online Courses to be Translated in 12 Different Languages
AICTE and IIT Madras NPTL have received advisories to translate all the 80 MOOC online courses of engineering into 12 different Indian regional languages. The mandated languages in which these courses are asked to be translated are Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi and Urdu. Candidates well-versed with any of these languages may apply for the post of the translator.
There are 80 MOOC online courses available.Out of the 80 online courses, AICTE was allocated exclusive 21 online courses for translation into different Indian regional languages.
Till date, AICTE has already completed the translation of three online courses of first-year engineering and three other SWAYAM online courses into eight Indian regional Languages. Therefore, the invitation to post-graduation students and faculties have been made to translate the rest of the courses.
