ARIES Nainital PhD Admission 2022 Begins; Last Date to Apply is April 29

New Delhi: ARIES Nainital has begun the registration process for admission to its PhD Courses for the current academic year. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, i.e., aries.res.in. The last date to apply is April 29, 2022.

Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) offers PhD opportunities for students of Astronomy and Astrophysics and Atmospheric Sciences. The programme is jointly offered by ARIES and IIT Roorkee. 

Candidates from the MSc. Physics background and pursuing research in relevant subjects from any recognised university are eligible to apply. They will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of their score in GATE/ JEST/ CSIR, UGC-NET. Candidates can apply via the online portal of the institute.

ARIES Nainital PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Aspiring candidates may take a look at the below mentioned eligibility criteria before applying to the programme:

• Candidates need to pass M.Sc in Physics with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST) from any recognised university 
• Students appearing for MSc in Final year also can apply but they have to show proof of qualification before joining the programme
• Candidates must be of 28 years old while applying
• Applicants should have CSIR/ UGC-NET/ GATE/ JEST qualified in Physics/ Earth, Atmospheric/ Ocean and Planetary Science
• Candidates with external fellowship such as CSIR-JRF, DST Inspire may be given preference

ARIES Nainital PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

Candidates will get selected through the following manar:

• Firstly the applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in GATE/ JEST/ NET
• Shortlisted candidates then have to appear for the personal interview/written test] round
• Final selection is based on the overall performance

Selected candidates will receive INR 31000/ (JRF) or INR 35000/ (SRF) per month.
