Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) is hosting the 45th Vice Chancellors’ Convention of Indian Agricultural Universities Association (IAUA) from December 20, 2021 (10 am) onwards. On this occasion, a two-day event will be held to discuss strategies on achieving global standards in agricultural universities.
The two-day event of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) is scheduled to be held from December 20 to December 21, 2021, at the Senate Hall. The event was inaugurated by Jharkhand’s Governor Ramesh Bais and BAU Vice-chancellor Onkar Nath Singh.

IAUA 45th VCs Convention 2021: Event Highlights
Organized by Birsa Agricultural University, IAUA 45th VCs Convention 2021 will include discussions on strategies to achieve global standards and sustainability and societal impact of agricultural universities.
The discussion will be held by Vice-chancellors from different agricultural, horticultural, veterinary, and fishery universities.
During the first day session on December 20, 2021, the Deputy Director-General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, RC Agrawal joined the inauguration ceremony as the guest of honor.
While for the second-day session, Siddique P, Secretary of the Agriculture Department, Jharkhand will join the event as a special guest. The second-day session will be held on December 21, 2021, at the university campus.
Birsa Agricultural University Courses & Fees
IAUA 45th VCs Convention 2021 will include three technical sessions. The first session will include discussions on ‘achieving international standards in agricultural education and research in the context of New National Education Policy’.
While the second will include the ‘Strategies to increase and sustain agricultural productivity and profitability with development and application of appropriate technologies” and the third will cover the ‘Enabling farmers’ access to technology, market, credit and extension services” topic.
IAUA 45th VCs Convention 2021: Event Goals
While talking about the event highlights, the university vice-chancellor Onkar Nath Singh stated that the recommendations and suggestions made during the event will be further shared with the state and central government.
The event will be held to find various ways to keep the natural resources for agriculture safe for future generations. With this event, BAU aims to improve the overall standards and sustainability of agriculture universities in India.
As of now, the IAUA President and Vice-chancellor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, RC Srivastava, secretary-general, IAUA, and vice-chancellor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Samastipur, Bihar have joined the event.
Additionally, Vice-chancellors of over 30 universities from UP, MP, Odisha, Maharashtra, Bihar, New Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Gujarat, Kashmir has also confirmed their event participation.
Earlier, the annual vice chancellors’ convention of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) by the IAUA VC's was held in 2007 and 2013. This is the third time where the BAU conducted the event for vice-chancellors of IAUA.
