What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students as a Principal?

“I help students in their overall development”

Being the Principal of SCET, I entrust myself in progressing the steps to make SCET an exemplary institution for engineering education and technology to create our students as high-quality professionals having technical competency, leadership qualities, ethical behavior, innovative abilities with the support of the best academic environment and creative faculty.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

“We make students work with diverse companies in various projects throughout the course”

We do several things to ensure that the industry focuses on the students. In addition to keeping up with current trends and technologies and implementing these into the daily classes, we invite smart people from the industry to do workshops with our students and teaching staff. By doing so, we get fresh ideas and inspiration and an insight into current practices that we can bring into the classroom.

“We provide more emphasis on student’s placement”

As we feel that Industrial work placement experience often results in improved academic performance, we provide more emphasis on Placement. In today’s rapidly evolving engineering landscape, we have an increased obligation to transform the undergraduate educational experience from the traditional pedantic curriculum in explicit disciplines to a broader foundational experience for life-long success.

What are the interventions and approaches you bring in apart from the curriculum to train/teach the students?

“We follow the modular approach of teaching rather than following the traditional approach”

The modular approach is an emerging trend of educational thinking that shifts traditional methods of instruction to an outcome-based learning paradigm. Based on this approach, students are made to partake in Hackathons, Youth Talks, Seminars, Presentation of their research papers in Conferences, Internships, systematic technical Quizzes, and all the other technical and non-technical competitions on a regular basis.
