Dr. Chinmoy Sahu is the Vice-Chancellor of Manipal GlobalNxt University and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and has been duly certified by Harvard Business Publishing for “Teaching with Cases Online”. He is an accomplished educator, having over two decades of experience in leading master's and doctoral level learning facilitation, research, and corporate consultancy.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector? 

“The innate ability to impart education on a global level and building careers”

The passion for creating learning opportunities for people around the world is the foremost inspiration that has kept me connected to the education ecosystem. The difference that learning has made and can make is beyond our wildest imagination. Moreover, the education ecosystem actively interacts with several other sectors and drives them forward. 

What is your philosophy of leadership and its unbiased implementation? 

“A style of operations that allows everyone to share their opinion & connect at a greater level”

In my view leadership needs to foster passion, compassion, honesty, inclusivity, and collaboration within an organization. It should be done in a way that disseminates positive values throughout the broader ecosystem. In my view, we cannot think of a single leadership style that is appropriate for all contexts. Having said that, coaching, affiliative and democratic styles seem more relevant in today's context.

How do you plan for the marketing and administration of your school? 

“Identification of learning needs and industry-specific skills is essential to plan the key programs”

For the last 20 years, we have successfully leveraged technology to widen the reach of our programs and make them affordable to all sections of our society. Everything we do helps create opportunities for anytime-anywhere learning.
