When you first came to Suresh Gyan Vihar University, what was your vision for the university? 

“Being able to sustain the level of excellence”

Suresh Gyan Vihar University is one of the oldest educational institutions in the state of Rajasthan, India. The prime focus of the University is on research, development, and innovation in scientific and technical education. My vision was to carry forward this legacy to the next level. 


What goals do you have in your mind for your centre for the next few years?

“Bringing in the necessary changes and developments required in this field”

My specific goals are:

  • to impart training for capacity building in climate change studies, 
  • to raise awareness among the policymakers of the key issues related to climate change, 
  • to develop infrastructure and necessary facilities in the centre.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plan for the administration of your centre?

“To equip our students with the best of the knowledge and skills”

C3WR as a research-driven center is expected to accelerate our past year scattered research and is dedicated to high-quality research. We are also planning for developing a more industry-oriented course curriculum. The courses offered by C3WR will be more emphasized on the potential application of Geoinformatics that may be used as an interdisciplinary tool for decision-making and solving real-world problems.

How does the curriculum of C3WR ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Industrial exposure with due importance to grasping of concepts”

The curriculum of C3WR emphasizes both hands-on experience and the exploration of fundamental concepts and methods of Geoinformatics. The Centre is well equipped with state-of-art computing facilities and input/output devices to meet various remote sensing, GIS, and image processing requirements. The Centre has high-performance computers and work stations along with a 24x7 Wi-Fi facility. We have kept the amenities up to date so that the students have the best experience while they are here.


What is the future scope of this course from your institution?

“Endless scope in the industry with a pool of opportunities”

After getting the degrees of the courses offered by C3WR, the students will get the opportunities to work as a scientist, academician, and researcher in various government organizations. Apart from this, there are ample opportunities to work in corporate and industry as a spatial analyst, data scientist, remote sensing expert, web GIS developer, urban planner, and surveyor, etc.


What approach do you have for the placement of the students in your centre?

“Making our students well-versed with the know-how of the industrial world”

We have industrial tie-ups with different companies and organizations working in the field of Geoinformatics. We regularly organize workshops, invited talks, and industrial visits. We conduct industrial mentorship for the students that helps them to connect with industrial personals and experts.

What suggestions would you like to give to the students pursuing higher education?

“Do not just study for personal gain”

I would like to suggest to the students that they should always be eager to learn new techniques and tools. It will help them to grow as industry-ready professionals. The students should pursue higher education to work on human welfare and societal benefits.
