Dr. Saurabh Parikh is currently serving as the Principal at Shri Jayantilal Hirachand Sanghvi Gujarati Innovative College Of Commerce & Science, Indore. He has 20 years of experience in academics, and has served as professor, lecturer, guest faculty and trainer at various institutes and corporate. Also, he has published more than 15 books on different computer subjects, and 20+ International and National research papers on ICT and e-governance. In 2020, Dr. Parikh was awarded by the Research Foundation of India for International Achievement of Excellence in the field.
How would you describe your leadership style?
”Aligning tasks and getting feedback”
Leadership is about the team and team members. I believe in a blend of leadership styles that is task oriented and people oriented both. Along with the guidance, it is also necessary to get feedback from the employees and students regarding their opinion.

Our institute pushes students towards more research and also helps them to prepare for some toughest competitive exams, so that they can stand firmly in the changing trends of the era. Also, we focus on digital friendly ambience and personalize communication to reach our students and parents. Our college is continuously making policies to upgrade the policies and curriculum to prepare students for the future.
How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?
”Industry oriented practical learning”
Our curriculum includes post graduate and undergraduate courses in different disciplines of Science and Commerce. Our strategy is more prone towards practical knowledge rather than imparting the traditional bookish knowledge only. We organize regular industrial visits, timely seminars and workshops for students to interface the practical world. Apart from that, a student can grow herself/himself in extracurricular activities too.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities towards the college are?
”Maintaining the overall academic environment on a daily basis”
My roles are to set targets and keep a regular check on policies to accomplish them on time. I take my responsibility to motivate educators as well as students, and to oversee day to day operations for establishing a healthy and sound learning atmosphere. Managing college budgets, and working towards the skill uplifting of students are my key roles.
What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths?

We have a dynamic team of dedicated staff, experienced faculties, expert non-teaching fellows, and above all a smooth coordination among them that ensure a very friendly and healthy environment for students. Along with that, keen observation on student’s activities, mentor-mentee relationships are also our core strengths. We follow a very professional approach to guide and teach students, and also help them find better opportunities for their career growth.

I would like to suggest to youth to first set a goal keeping in mind what they want to pursue and not to leave that dream in the middle. Youth should always pay attention towards exploring new ideas, even if it is out of their comfort zone. They should always maintain their enthusiasm and zeal to learn.
