Mr. Rajendra Kumar is the Founding Partner/ Director of Maxian Hyderabad. Alongside he mentions how the institute creates a perfect blend of application based and theoretical knowledge. Also, he mentions how he takes into consideration the importance of student-teacher relationship, and the pivotal aspect of having an ambient supporting environment for the students. Furthermore, he emphasizes on the core strengths of the institute and why it is important to take exposure and additional courses for the core development of the students. In the later segment, he highlights that the future vision of the college is to become an autonomous institution.
The inductive teaching methodology enables students to understand the subject thoroughly
We adopted Inductive teaching methodology which enables students to understand the subject thoroughly and then apply it in their job. This ensures that students are trained according to corporate requirements. Over and above this, we stay up to date with the current industry standards and enable the students in doing so through countless valuable webinars, conferences and industry sessions.
My philosophy is based on co-operative and democratic style model
I follow a co-operative and democratic leadership model. I accept suggestions from my entire faculty because they are the people who are actually taking forward the organization’s philosophy. Thus, it is suitable to accept and take suggestions from them. Similarly, I offer equal importance to suggestions from students because they are my ultimate beneficiaries.
Our institute creates a blend of application based and theoretical knowledge for the students
There is a huge difference between Indian education and education in other countries. In India, we concentrate on mass education and on the quantity of the subject and we give a high importance to teacher and student relation, whereas in other countries the education system concentrates on application. In my organization, I am blending these two systems. One side we follow the quantity and quality, teacher student relation of Indian education along with practicality of western education. The other way, we follow Swami Vivekananda’s ideology: “Education is the manifestation of perfection already in men”
Our digital savvy campuses enable students to have industry interaction at all times to help them garner industry ready knowledge
As an affiliated college of Osmania University we follow OU curriculum. On the other hand, I make sure that we are following the inductive teaching methodology, all my students are trained deeply in the subject as well as in practical application. This makes my students industry suitable. Our digital savvy campuses enable student industry interaction at all times necessary allowing them to abreast of the current industry developments. On top of the curriculum we conduct webinars and conferences.
I take in consideration that student-teacher relationship fosters along with providing environment for the students to prosper
As a senior academician, I play a major role in developing the philosophy, vision, mission of the institute. Along with that, I play a major role in updating the teaching methods and environment in the organization. I ensure that the curriculum stays up to date with the industry standards. Another important area where I spend my time is looking into the student-teacher interaction. I believe foremost , the student has to be comfortable with the teaching philosophy and style. Constant feedback is taken from the students to understand his areas of concern and improve on the same.
We make sure to provide an ambient atmosphere for the holistic development of the students
Our priority is producing finance professionals who are suitable to industry requirements. Along with this equal importance is given to students holistic development. Our industry training programs are top notch and we plan to leverage this for the coming years. We also plan on building an Academy from the ground up for working class professionals and students alike. Importance would be laid on both personal and professional development in the Academy through a plethora of means including Webinars, Industry session, certification courses and hands on projects
The faculty, students, our teaching methodology and our philosophy forms core strength of our institute
Our faculty, our teaching methodology and our philosophy are our strengths. The student industry interaction we facilitate, forms another strong suit for our College. Our webinars and one on one sessions with the industry experts and career coaches are unparalleled and form a huge factor in our student’s success and career. Our faculty is highly experienced and motivated and are taught to put the students' needs at the top.
Lack of exposure in the management education is the biggest challenge
One of the biggest challenges or the problems that I have encountered is the lack of industry exposure in the management education. To fill this gap we are involving the industry experts in teaching the students in practical application of syllabus. Their involvement is not limited to interaction with students, they train the students on how the subject is applied in Industry. Industry experts are involved in teaching along with my regular faculty. We have strived to make our campus digital savvy to facilitate a thorough interaction with industry experts and the students
Students should not have a laid back attitude and opt for additional professional qualifications to help them in a long run
I suggest all the students to do some additional finance professional qualifications like ACCA, CIMA, US CMA, CPA, CIM because all these qualifications are accepted in over 140 countries and in more than 8000 national organisations. While these courses do play an important role in a student’s career development , I believe equal impotence should be laid on “learning through earning”. This is where a student will have the opportunity to deploy his learnings in a professional setting and mark his entry into the professional world. His academic qualifications should be backed by suitable internships.
The plan for the near future is to convert the college in an autonomous institution
My current plan, in the coming 3 years, is to convert my college as an autonomous institution. More focus would be laid on our already successful training programs. We plan on improving the student industry interaction further. We will also have an academy coming up to train the working professionals and students on niche courses.
