North East Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Principal : Prof. [Dr.] K M Das Interview

Joining the organization in 2008, Prof. [Dr.] K M Das is currently serving as Principal at North East Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Itanagar. With MD from NIH Kolkata,Ramakrishna Mission, Kamarpukur, Hooghly, West Bengal, he has also served as Medical Officer in Homeopathy Speciality Clinic in West Bengal, for 2 years. Dr. Das has several years of work experience in Medical Homeopathy and has been involved in many of the mentorship and guidance programmes, especially in north-eastern states of India. 

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Profession that teaches all other professions”

As a teacher and guide, I always try to be best in my approach towards students and education. I always want to fill the pupil with the core values of education rather than just academic or professional. Undoubtedly, to reach any professional career in your life, you need a good mentorship and teaching guide. That is you need a teacher first. Apart from this the respect and love I get from fellow members and students always resonates and satisfies me for choosing this career.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“Taking responsibility for all negatives and positives of your decisions”

As a leader, you can't just take the privileges that come with the position. You must be ready to take the negatives as well. One must have a clear mindset and comprehensive decision making ability in order to achieve organizational goals and missions. 

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Pertaining good quality education and influential job market”

For achieving best results, our efforts must also be best. Providing high quality education and desirable career prospects is our prime concern now, and would be our prime concern 10 years next. Along with better academic performance, students must also gain certain values and ethics that makes them a responsible citizen of this great nation.

We also follow effective classroom learning and innovative methodologies that engage and excites students and make them feel comfortable.

“Education is the key to your success”

Students must aspire and believe in education. They must have a strong will power and a flexible mind to achieve their goals and build a strong career. Educate yourself as much as you can, because learning never ends and you never grow old to learn.
