CBSE Class 12 Term 1 Exam 2022: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully conducted the CBSE Class 12 Sociology Term 1 2022 on December 01, 2021, for all registered students in various exam centers

Class 12th Board Examination 2021 for sociology for registered students was held for a duration of one and a half hours, from 11:30 pm to 1:00 pm. Students were given about 20 minutes to read the exam question paper before starting with the answers. 

As per the expert’s and students’ reviews, the examination level was said to be relatively ‘expected’ with a moderate difficulty level. The questions were fairly easy, but a few sections took more than expected, students said. 

Earlier, the CBSE board started the examination for the term 1 session for both class 10th and class 12th students from December 2021. The CBSE Examination Schedule 2022 for the same was also released for all students to check on the official website of the board.

CBSE Class 12 Sociology Term 1 2022 Answer Key: Marking Scheme

As per the CBSE Class 12th Exam 2021 marking scheme released for the term 1 examination, the sociology subject will be evaluated based on the below scheme.

CBSE Class 12 Sociology Term 1 2022: Student Reviews

CBSE Class 12th Term 1 Exam 2021 was held for sociology subjects in Multiple Choice Format. Students were given four different options and they had to choose the correct one and fill it on the given OMR sheet. 

After evaluating the question, the exam experts stated that in the examination, there were a few questions that were added from out of the syllabus, while a few questions did not have any correct options. Due to this, the question was either restricted or was skipped by many students. 

Abhinandan Adhikari, a Sociology student at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Vasundhara, Ghaziabad said, “The Sociology Class 12 Board Examination was very easy. Section A and Section C were pretty straightforward, while Section B was moderate".

Adding to the same, Adhikari said, “The problem was there in as many as 4 questions, and this put mental stress upon the students. I hope the concerned department takes note of this issue and makes sure the same does not happen again in the upcoming exams".

CBSE Class 12 Sociology Term 1 2022: Inappropriate Question Found in Exam

During the CBSE Class 12th Sociology Exam 2021, the examination board added a question regarding the Gujarat Riots of 2002. In the question, students had to answer under which government the riot took place.

Soon after the release of the question paper, the board released an official statement stating that the question mentioning the Gujarat 2002 riots targeting Muslims was "inappropriate and in violation of the CBSE guidelines for external subject experts for setting question papers." 

After acknowledging the error made, CBSE soon officially tweeted, “A question has been asked in today’s class 12 sociology Term 1 exam which is inappropriate and in violation of the CBSE guidelines for external subject experts for setting question papers".

"CBSE acknowledges the error made and will take strict action against the responsible persons,” the tweet further reads. 

CBSE Class 12 Sociology Term 1 2022: Question Paper Analysis

As for the CBSE Class 12th Sociology Term 1 2022 exam paper analysts, many students added that the exam level was pretty much easy and straightforward, while some stated that the questions were moderate.

A student who mentioned that the exam paper was moderately tough said, “Assertion and reasoning questions I have gotten wrong I think. Rest the paper was fairly easy barring two or three confusing questions”.

While another student added that the question level was ok, not too easy, and not too tough either. The questions that appeared in the examination were as expected.

While talking about the exam pattern, a student added, “With MCQs, it is not like I can revise a set of questions and expect a certain result. Now you must know everything in the chapter, so yes it’s tougher. But it was easier to attempt and less tiring”.
