New Delhi: CSIR- CIMFR, Dhanbad is currently accepting applications for its PhD programme for the academic 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, cimfr.nic.in. 

 

CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad offers a PhD programme in two specialisations that include Science and Engineering. The institute also offers an Integrated Dual-Degree PhD (IDDP) Program in Engineering.

CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: Highlights 

Admission to the CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad PhD programmes is done twice a year. The minimum educational requirement for applicants is a Master's degree in a relevant discipline. The Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) of the institute selects candidates based on an aptitude test and a personal interview.

CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

For Regular Candidates:

• PhD (Science): Master’s Degree in Physical/ Biological/ Chemical and related Sciences/ Technology with valid National level research fellowship offered by various funding agencies (CSIR/ UGC/ DBT / DST) or equivalent.
• PhD (Engineering): Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in a related discipline with a valid National level research fellowship offered by various funding agencies (CSIR/ UGC/ DBT / DST) or equivalent.
• Integrated Dual-Degree PhD (IDDP) Program in Engineering: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with valid GATE score. Project Assistants, Group III Technical Staff and CSIR Scientists with a minimum of 1-year experience at any CSIR Lab are also eligible to apply.

For Sponsored Candidates:

• PhD (Science): Candidates from Industry/ other outside organizations holding Master’s Degree in Physical/Biological/Chemical and Related Sciences.
• PhD (Engineering): Candidates from Industry/ other outside organizations holding Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology in a related discipline.

CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

• A committee will review all applications made by the candidates. 
• Candidates who are shortlisted after the screening will be contacted to attend an interview/aptitude test.
• The shortlisted candidates will be notified of the date of the aptitude test/interview, which will also be posted on the institute's website.
• Those who attend the interview will not be compensated in any way. 
• The committee's decision on the selection of candidates is final.

CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: How to Apply?

• Visit the official AcSIR Online Admission Portal of CSIR- CIMFR Dhanbad. 
• Register yourself after filling in the required details, such as name, address, mobile number, email id, city, gender, date of birth etc.
• When the AcSIR Online Application form is completed, an AcSIR Application Number (AAN) is created, which will be used in future contact between the applicant and AcSIR.
• Now, log in with your registration credentials and fill in all details in the Application form and submit it.
• Applicants must also take a printout of the form for all future needs.
