New Delhi: Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has entered into a partnership with the Delhi Government to promote entrepreneurship among women. Both the partners signed a MoU to provide the state of the art training to women. The agreement was signed on Monday, April 18, 2022.
The agreement was signed by the Director of the Women and Child Development Department (WCD) and the DSEU Registrar, in the presence of Kailash Gahlot, the WCD Minister.
As per the official statement of Gahlot, this MoU will help to launch an era of women entrepreneurs through providing them sufficient skills and a platform to innovate their own livelihood ideas. This will be helpful even for the upcoming generations.
“I am hopeful for impressive outcomes that will result from this partnership. The Delhi government is highly focused on creating employment, which was heavily reflected in our Rozgar Budget this year too,” as stated by Gahlot.
As per the WCD Department, 120 Anganwadi hub centres will act as the training cum business incubation centres for women entrepreneurs and for the micro-entrepreneurship programmes. Approximately one hundred women micro-entrepreneurial ventures will be supported under this programme. Additionally the capacity building of more than 2500 women will be trained to improve their economic situation.
Associated with the Department’s ‘Samriddhi Project’, the agreement further aims to undertake the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme to train the existing and new women entrepreneurs in Delhi. This is so that they can establish their own enterprises using the platform of DWCD’s Saheli Samanvay Kendra (SSK) Anganwadi Hubs.
The SSK is the intervention developed during the crucial period of COVID 19 pandemic for facilitating collective action to address the socio-economic needs of women, girls and children through more focused and effective utilisation of Anganwandis. Principal Secretary, WCD, Pro Vice-Chancellor, DSEU and other senior officials from the WCD and DSEU were also present during the signing of the MoU.
