New Delhi: Delhi University students have been protesting on social media platforms against the authority to demand Open Book Examination (OBE) for the May-June semesters. Following the constant protests and demands by the students, the university authority announced not to change their decision of conducting an offline exam. Upon being left dissatisfied with the response, many students have begun to share their concerns via numbers of tweets with the hope that their plea will reach the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan.
Earlier, due to the COVID pandemic, Delhi University (DU) shifted to the Online Exam mode. In February, 2022, offline classes began in the varsity and for the students of the second, fourth and sixth semesters, exams are decided to be conducted in offline mode.
In March 2022, the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) wrote a letter to the VC demanding OBE for the students of the even semester courses also. With the COVID cases rising again, especially in Delhi, the demand is also increasing. Since then DU students have been trending #DUStudentsDemandOBE on social media such as Twitter.
On Monday, April 18, 2022, hundreds of DU students protested at the North Campus of the varsity. Their demand was if other institutes can conduct OBE, why can’t DU. Many students’ associations claimed that this demand is entirely valid as most of the syllabus was completed in online mode as well as the internals.
Delhi University students want #OBE for this May-June semester Exam as 90% of their syllabus was completed in Online mode!

Simple Solution to a logical Demand.
DU authorities are mentally torturing students.
Let's unite#JusticeForDUStudents#DUStudentsDemandOBE
“Our classes are being held online , then exam should be held online too. Why is DU not understanding that our demand is genuine for OBE?” as stated by another DU student.
Many students have been citing examples of outstation candidates saying that it will be extremely hazardous and risky for those who will have to travel to Delhi for the offline exams amidst the rising COVID cases.
Upon being crushed by the stakeholders of DU, students, however, have been trying to seek help from the Honourable Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan via multiple tweets.
Our hopes for genuine demand of #PradhanJiHelpDUStudentsWithOBE

Additionally, the students have been attempting to reach the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi as well. Demanding the hybrid mode of teaching and OBE, many students are using the #ModiJiHelpDUStudents tweets to establish their demand.
