National Law Universities or the NLUs are autonomous law schools of country. These are the pioneers of legal education in India and are the most sought-after law schools. First NLU of the country was established in 1986 in Bangalore, and is known as NLSUI Bangalore.
At the moment, there are 21 NLUs in India, from which 19 grant admission on the basis of Common Law Admission Test. Through the law entrance examination, law aspirants are granted admissions to both UG and PG courses.

About CLAT 2018
The examination is conducted on rotational basis by NLUs as per the year of their establishment. This year, National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi or NUALS Kochi will hold CLAT 2018 on May 13, 2018. Check CLAT 2018 Exam Dates

Different NLUs are ranked on the basis of their academic excellence, batch quality, infrastructure and other factors. The rankings help candidates decide that which colleges they should target.

Category wise cutoff for NLUs
Along with the rankings, it is important to know the cutoffs as well. Candidates must know that what kind of a score in CLAT would lead them to admission in their desired law school. Cut off is the minimum score at which a seat is offered in respective NLU.
Mentioned below are the category wise CLAT cut offs for all the NLUs. Note that these are previous year cutoffs, and there is a possibility that cutoff scores might change this year, as they depend on various factors like difficulty of paper, number of candidates appearing in the paper etc. Take a look at the following table: -
