NEET PG 2021 Paper Analysis

NEET PG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Post-Graduate) is a test conducted for admissions to MD/ MS and PG Diploma Courses. NEET PG 2021 will comprise of subjects as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India. NEET PG is a multiple-choice questions exam and is conducted in online mode. The exam will be conducted on January 10, 2021 and the result will be declared on January 30, 2021 (tentatively).

NEET PG 2021 : Paper Analysis Highlights

  • As per the students, the NEET PG 2021 Exam Pattern will be different from the last few year's pattern being followed.
  • The difficulty level of the exam will be moderate to difficult.
  • Part C will be more difficult as compared to Part A and Part B.
  • For the first time exam takers, the paper will be difficult to be managed in the given duration.
  • The topics taking up high weightage in NEET PG 2021 will be Medicine, Surgery, OBGY, Anatomy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. Check NEET PG Syllabus
  • The topics carrying low weightage will be ENT, Psychiatry, FMT, Orthopedics, and Anesthesia.

NEET PG 2021: Subjectwise weightage

Based on the previous year’s review the maximum questions in NEET PG 2020 were from General Medicine, Preventive and Social Medicine, and Pharmacology. Other favorites in NEET PG 2020 question paper were questions from General Surgery, Obstetrics, and Gynecology.

On the other hand, there were few topics which carried the least weightage. This included topics like Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, and ENT. There were not more than 10 questions from these topics. Ophthalmology and ENT in total had 6 questions.

NEET PG 2021: Changes as Compared to Last Year

For NEET PG 2020 there were a lot of changes in the paper pattern. Last year NEET PG included one line or direct questions. Whereas this year the paper will have a few direct questions and most questions are expected to be conceptual or image-based. Topics like Forensic Medicine will have image-based questions. Subjects such as Anatomy and Pharmacology are theory-oriented, however, the questions based on them are also expected to be conceptual and clinical-case.

NEET PG 2020 Cutoff

NEET PG 2021: Cutoff

Based on NEET PG cutoff 2021, the authorities have prepared the merit list, which will be used for admission to 50% AIQ, Deemed/Central universities, ESIC and AFMC colleges. NEET PG counseling 2021 will be held in two rounds by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for admission to around 19,525 MD and 10,601 MS seats offered by medical colleges across India. Besides All India Quota seats, the NEET PG 2021 cutoff will also be used by the respective state counseling authorities to derive the merit list for admission to 50% SQ seats.
