Union Education Minister is going to inaugurate four new Kendriya Vidyalaya on October 8, 2020. He will inaugurate via video conferencing due to the ongoing pandemic.
The four new Kendriya Vidyalaya that will be inaugurated today are
- KV Mahuldiha,
- Rairangpur (Odisha),
- KV Faridabad (Haryana),
- KV Hanumangarh, (Rajasthan),
- KV Nayagarh (Odisha).
Other delegates that will be present for the inauguration ceremony are Minister of State Education Sanjay Dhoter, Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare, the senior officer of Kendriya Vidyalaya, and the senior officer of SR city.
The four KVs have been constructed with a total expenditure of Rs 68.60 crore.
The buildings have been constructed as per the ‘Green Building’ norms and with an added benefit of ‘Rain-Water Harvesting System’ for the conservation of water. The infrastructure is built barrier-free so that it will be easy for specially-abled people to access. There will be enough space for sports and physical activities.

About Kendriya Vidyalaya
Started in 1963 by the name ‘Central Schools’, Kendriya Vidyalaya Institutions have come a long way. A total of 1228 Kendriya Vidyalayas have been established, out of which 1225 are in India and the rest 3 are abroad. As of January 20, 2019, there are approximately 12,78,201 students enrolled and 45,477 employees are working. There is no tuition fee as it comes under the Central Government Education Scheme.
The mode of teaching in KVs is English and Hindi and teaching in local language is not supported.
