FICCI( Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) and OYO have jointly decided to design and develop an Online Certification course for the Hospitality industry. The same has to be executed in the post-Covid world.
A Memorandum of Understanding has often been signed between the two. Both FICCI and OYO aim at extending their helping hands towards encouraging the sports mechanism in the hospitality industry.
The hospitality industry has been largely impacted due to the spread of the COVID-19 across the country, as a result of which, it will be further helpful in the promotion and involvement of the government’s efforts to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Thereby, all these government efforts will be further helpful in the exponential and unprecedented growth of the hospitality industry in the near future.
Thus, it will provide a better and safe ambience to the hospitality industry and thereby giving a wonderful experience to its guests like OYO has recently launched its ‘Sanitised Stays’ initiative.
This course with FICCI is another step towards building a holistic framework to address the post-Covid requirements.
Highlights of the Course:
- OYO and FICCI have developed and designed the course materials for the program.
- The course emphasizes on restructuring the framework of the sanitisation protocols.
- Minimising person-to-person contact for a hotel in line with the Standard Operating Procedures announced by the Ministry Of Tourism, Government of India.
- This course is available in Hindi and English.
- The certification course will have a certain group of nine training modules for helping hotels and hospitality professionals implement key safety guidelines.
- The modules included in this course are hotel, staff, guest, front-office, F & B service, housekeeping, guest room cleaning and food production advisories.
- This will also include an advisory on how to handle suspected Covid or Covid-positive guests.
Aims & Objectives of the Course:
- The proposal has been agreed to create a gate-way for hotels and hospitality professionals.
- It will contribute in meeting the challenges of operating a hotel in the present circumstances and also provide relevant solutions to address the same.
- FICCI will provide financial assistance to the implementation of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and the online delivery platform for the online certification course.
- On the completion of the course, successful candidates will receive a Certificate of Compliance by FICCI that will help them implement key safety guidelines, boost customer confidence and help in demand creation as travel resumes in a post-Covid world.
- The course will offer a plethora of avenues for candidates to explore and excel in the field of hospitality industry thereby building a career in it.
With this joint agreement, FICCI and OYO are looking ahead to strengthen the support mechanism of the hospitality sector and will be able to promote tourism for both domestic and foreign travellers.
