Bihar Polytechnic Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Admission is conducted into four courses coming under the DCECE examination.
Each course follows different eligibility criteria in which candidates need to be fulfilled.
- Polytechnic Engineering: Candidates must have passed class 10 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 35% marks. There is no minimum and maximum age prescribed for the admission process.
- Part-Time Polytechnic Engineering: Candidates must have passed class 10 and should have two years of ITI or experience.
- PMD(Para Medical Dental): Candidates must have passed 10 or equivalent with English and Science subjects from a recognized board.
- PM(Intermediate Level): Candidates must have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and must have attained 17 years of years. The maximum age limit for the course is 32 years.

Bihar Polytechnic Admission 2023: Exam Pattern
- The entrance exam is conducted for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The paper consists of a total of 90 questions. The question paper is available both in Hindi and English language. There is no negative marking in the paper and each correct answer provides 5 marks.
- For PP and PPE, the question paper consists of thirty questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- For PM, the question paper has 15 questions each from Numerical Ability, Hindi, and English, 20 questions from GK, and 25 questions from General Science.
- For PMD, Physics, and Chemistry has 20 questions, 10 questions from Mathematics/Biology, Hindi, English, and GK.

Bihar Polytechnic Admission 2023: Result
- After the entrance examination, the result of the entrance examination will be released after 2-3 weeks. The result would be released in the format of pdf. Candidates need to check the roll number in the list and follow all the procedures for further announcements or events.
- The result list highlights the name of the candidate along with the rank scored. After the announcement of the result, a detailed scorecard will be issued to the candidates via online mode only. The scorecard usually contains the individual marks scored by the candidates in each of the subjects.
- Candidates need to take along the rank card and the scorecard respectively for the further interview/counseling process as per the schedule.
Bihar Polytechnic Admission 2023: Counselling
- After the release of the merit list, candidates would be called for the counseling process. It will be scheduled as per the venue decided by the statutory body. The colleges will be allotted based on the rank and category of the applicants.
- Candidates must submit the required documents to establish the eligibility criteria. The concerned bodies will release an official notice before commencing the counseling schedule.
- The counseling process is held for the students qualified in the entrance examination. Candidates will be called upon their marks and rank respectively as scored in the entrance exam.
Bihar Polytechnic Admission 2023: Reservation
- The seats are allotted based on reservation criteria followed by the norms and regulations. The criteria are followed as per the latest rules and regulations under the Government of India.
- The reservation is done mainly based on categories, namely, SC, ST, General, EWS, and others as followed. Scheduled Castes holds reservations of 16%, ST category holds for 1%, 18% seats are reserved for Extremely Backward Classes, 12% constitutes of Backward Classes and 3% of the total seats are allocated to the reserved category girls.
