Uttar Pradesh BTech Admission is conducted by the AKTU Lucknow. UP BTech Admission 2023 is done solely on the basis of an entrance exam score. UP BTech Admission is done based on the JEE Main scores for all BTech specializations except BTech Agriculture and BTech Bio-Tech. The UP BTech Admission 2023 will be done on the basis of the UPCET counseling done by the AKTU. The UP BTech Admission will be done in the month of August 2023.
The UP BTech Admission will be conducted after the JEE Main results have been released through the UPCET counseling and Seat Allotment Process. Candidates who wish to seek UP BTech admission 2023 on the basis of the JEE Main 2023 scores must wait for the UPCET Counselling. The JEE Main result for the Phase I exam was announced on February 07, 2023.
BTech is a 4-year undergraduate Engineering Course. To be eligible for the UP BTech Admission, candidates must be from the Science stream, with Physica, Chemistry, and Maths as their compulsory subjects.

UP BTech Admission 2023: Eligibility
- Applicants must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board
- Applicants must have had PCM/PCB as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects: a) Chemistry b) Bio-Tech c) Computer Science

JEE (Main) results are announced around 15 days after all the exam slots have been completed. These results are announced by the NTA. After these results are announced, the admission procedures begin.

After the results are announced, the counseling process begins. The counseling body of UP is AKTU, Lucknow. The counseling process is still going on for the vacant seats in various institutions. But following is how the process goes:
- The applicants are required to register themselves at The next step is to pay the registration fee of 1000/-.
- Once registered, the applicants need to verify the required documents.
- Then comes the process of choice filling. Here, the applicants have to select their choice of colleges in order of preference.
- Then, the seats will be allotted to the students based on the merit of the students, seat vacancy, and the category of admission.
- If the students are not happy with the college allotted, they can apply for the next round of counseling, if conducted.

UP BTech Admission 2023: FAQs
Ques. How will be NRI Quota seats filled?
Ans. NRI candidates who possess minimum requisite qualification may get direct admission on 5% seats of total intake in State-Funded and Private Institutions of Uttar Pradesh in BTech. The University shall fill the seats of NRI quota (5%) seats in the following manner:
- NRI quota seats shall be filled from NRIs who
- (a) Have passed (with/without grace) the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from an Institution situated outside India, which is considered equivalent to (10+2) examination by the Association of Indian Universities. OR Have passed High School Certificate Education (GCE) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Higher Mathematics (A) from London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka.
- (b) Have appeared in SAT II examination with Mathematics level II C, Physics and Chemistry
Ques. When was UPSEE held this year?
Ans. UPSEE (now UPCET) has been scrapped. UP BTech Admission will be based solely on the marks in JEE (Main).
Ques. How to secure a seat under Management Quota in Private universities?
Ans. Management Quota is not handled by any government body. Instead, the institution head usually is responsible for the management seats. To secure such a seat, the applicants need to contact the college directly.
Ques. What is the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme?
Ans. This is a scheme for the Economically Weaker section of society. Under this scheme, they will not be charged any tuition fee. However, other charges will be applied.
