CAT: Syllabus

CAT Registration

The registration process for CAT will start in August. The following points should be clear before registering for CAT.

  • The last date for registering for the CAT exam will be September.
  • The registration fee for general candidates will be INR 2000 and INR 1000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  • Candidates should be ready with important documents such as passport size photograph, scanned signature, and category certificate.
  • A maximum of 4 exam centers can be chosen by the candidates for giving their examination.
  • It is necessary to choose the college and the course students want to apply for beforehand, at the time of registration.

  • The CAT results are released in January on the official website.
  • The results are valid for a year and based on the answer key, the result is prepared, which is accepted by IIMs and other top business schools in India.
  • IIMs prepare their CAT cutoff on their websites, and if the candidate has a cutoff score equal to that on the website, they are called for the written ability test, group discussion round, and personal interview.
  • During CAT Counselling candidates are selected based on their CAT Results, academic background, and work experience.
