The UP scholarship is one of the biggest state scholarships run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This state scholarship provides financial assistance to the students of the courses like higher secondary classes (9-12), Graduation and Diploma courses. There are around 10 scholarship schemes provided by the UP government.

Candidates willing to apply for the state's scholarship will have to check for their eligibility. Then they must apply online through the state scholarship portal by registering, and filling the application form correctly, and uploading the documents.

Uttar Pradesh Scholarship 2022: Important Dates

A number of scholarships are available which can be applied for, by the eligible students.

Uttar Pradesh Scholarship 2022: How to Apply?

The candidates must apply through the online mode of the Uttar Pradesh government scholarship portal.

Step 1: New Student Registration

Candidates must visit the official website – scholarship.up.nic.in.
Then click on “Student” and select “Registration” from the drop-down menu.
Choose the scheme
Fill in the application form with all personal and educational details.
Click on “Submit”.
Now take the printout of the registration page.

Step 2: Student Login

Log in with the login credentials provided at the time of registration
If candidates are fresh applicant, then click on ‘Fresh Applicant’, if the candidates are willing to renew the Sarkari scholarship, click on ‘Renewal’
Then click on the ‘Proceed’ button

Step 3: Filling UP Scholarship Application Form

Fill in the application form of the scholarship with all the relevant details.
Then click on “Submit”.

Step 4: Uploading Documents

Uploading the scanned copies of the documents is a must. The scanned copies must be uploaded as per the prescribed format.
All the documents must be valid (must not be expired)

Step 5: Final Submission

Then candidates must preview the filled in the application form of the scholarship
Lastly, submit the application form by clicking on “Submit”.

Uttar Pradesh Scholarship 2022: Check Scholarship Status

After submitting the scholarship application form, the officials will release the UP Scholarship Application status at the state government portal scholarship.up.gov.in. There the applicants can check whether their application has been accepted or rejected by the government.

UP Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The applicants of this scholarship must be permanent citizens of Uttar Pradesh or hold a domicile of Uttar Pradesh. The applicants must check for the eligibility criteria for each scholarship separately, as the eligibility criteria for each scholarship are different.

UP Pre-Matric Scholarship For ST/SC/General Category Students

The students must be of SC/ST/General category
Students of Class 9 and 10 are eligible to apply for this.
The annual income of the family must not exceed INR 1 lakh.

UP Post-Matric Intermediate Scholarship For ST/SC/General Category Students

Applicants must be of class 11 and 12 fr applying for this scholarship.
The annual income of the general candidates must not exceed INR 2 Lakh.
The annual income of the SC/ ST candidates must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

UP Post-Matric (Other Than Intermediate) Scholarship For ST, SC, General Category Students

The Applicant must be from Under graduation/ post graduation/ Ph. D or higher-level courses
The annual income of the general candidates must not exceed INR 2 Lakh
The annual income of the SC/ ST candidates must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

UP Post-Matric Other State Scholarship For ST, SC, General Category Students

The candidates must be in class 11 or above to apply for this scholarship.
The annual income of the general candidates must not exceed INR 2 Lakh.
The annual income of the SC/ ST candidates must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.

UP Pre-Matric Scholarship For Minorities

The applicant of this scholarship must be from the minority community, and must be studying in class 9 or 10.
The annual income of the applicant's family must not exceed INR 1 Lakh.

UP Post-Matric (Other Than Intermediate) Scholarship For Minorities

Candidates of minorities community pursuing their studies in graduation, post graduation, Ph. D or higher-level education are eligible for this scholarship.
The annual income of the applicant's family must not exceed INR 2 Lakh.

UP Post Matric Intermediate Scholarship For Minorities

Candidates of minority communities studying in class 11 and 12 are eligible for the scholarship.
The annual income of the applicant's family must not exceed INR 2 Lakh.

UP Pre-Matric Scholarship For OBC Students

Ans. The steps to check the application status are:

Visit the official website of the UP scholarship.up.nic.in.
Click on the ‘Status’ tab, and select the ‘ Application Status’ from the menu.
Enter the registration number and password.
Then status will be shown.

Ques. Is an Aadhaar card mandatory?

Ans. Yes, an Aadhar card is mandatory for the applicant, as identity proof.

Ques. Can one edit any information in the scholarship application form?

Ans. Yes, one can edit the scholarship application form before submitting the form. The form once submitted cannot be edited by the applicants.

Ques. Who is eligible for the pre- Metric, Post Matric, Metricum Means based scholarships of UP?

Ans. Students of minority communities viz. Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi (Zoroastrian), pursuing their studies in class 9-10, 11-12, graduation, postgraduation, or higher-level courses, are eligible for the pre- Metric, Post Metric, Metricum Means based.

Ques. I am from a minority community and have pursued my Ph. D course in a University under UP government affiliation. Can I apply for the scholarships?

Ans. One can apply for the UP scholarships only if he/ she is a citizen of UP or has a UP domicile.
