North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong invites the application form for admission to B.A.LL.B.(Hons). / B.Tech. / B.Arch./ M.Tech./ MCA / LL.M./MTTM / Master of Agri-business Management & Food Technology and Ph.D. Programmes.

Courses offered and Eligibility Criteria:

B.Tech Program:

Information Technology / Energy Engineering /Electronics Communication Engineering /Biomedical Engineering

North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must passed 10+2 in science stream or its equivalent from any recognized board and secured at least 45% aggregate marks (relaxation for SC/ST candidates by 5% marks) in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry /Biotechnology /Biology/Technical
• A candidates must have valid positive JEE (Main) score card

B.Tech Lateral Entry Admission:

Eligibility Criteria for admission directly into 2nd year/ 3rd year Semester B.Tech Courses:

B.Tech Information Technology (IT): 

Applicants must have 3 years engineering Diploma in the relevant branch of IT and got minimum 60% marks in aggregate from any recognized institution through a minimum of three years of institutional study after class 10th and 12th.

B.Tech (Energy Engineering): 

The candidates have 3 years Diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch of Energy Engineering and secured at least 60% marks in aggregate from any recognized institution through a minimum of three years of institutional study after class 10th and 12th.

B.Tech Electronics Communication Engineering (ECE):

• For lateral entry candidate must have 3 years engineering Diploma from following disciplines: ECE/ CSE/ Electrical/Information Technology/Instrumentation/ Medical Electronics and secured at least 60% marks in aggregate through a minimum of three years of institutional study after class 10th/12th exam (or)
• Sc in Electronics/ Physics/Mathematics having minimum 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized institution having Mathematics at 10+2 level

B.Tech (Biomedical Engineering):

Candidates have done 3 years Diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch of Biomedical Engineering with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from any recognized institution through a minimum of three years of institutional study after 10th and 12th exam.

Dept. of Law – B.A LLB (Hons.)

Eligibility Criteria for Law:

• Candidates must have passed (10+2) or its equivalent with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General and 45% marks for SC/ST student from a recognized University/Board
• The maximum age limit for General candidates is20 (twenty) years  and 22 (twenty two) years for SC/ST and OBC candidates as on 01st August 2015
• Any student shall not be permitted to simultaneously register for the course with any other certificate courses/graduate and post graduate courses run by the university or any other university or institute.
• For academic or professional learning programmes provided that any short period part time certificate course on language, computer science or computer application of an institute or any courses run by a Centre for Distance Learning or a university however, shall be accepted.

The candidate will have to clear the Entrance Test to be held on 26th June 2015 from 11.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch):

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at the Higher Secondary or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Computer Science as subjects of exam at (10+2) level (relaxation for SC/ST candidates by 5% marks) (OR)
• Candidates have 10+3 years diploma with a minimum of at least 50% marks in aggregate in Architecture/Civil Engineering recognized by the Central/ any State Govt. (relaxation for SC/ST candidates by 5% marks)
• Those candidates who fulfill the any of the above eligibility must also have a valid National Aptitude Test of Architecture (NATA) score card conducted by Council of Architecture.

Master of Agri-business Management & Food Technology (MFA)

Eligibility Criteira for MFA:

• Candidate must have aggregate 55% marks (relaxation for SC/ST candidates by 5% marks) in B.Sc (Life Sciences, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Micro-biology, Bio-chemistry, Food Preservation, Agriculture, Food Technology) or
• Graduate degree in Agriculture Science/Technology/ Animal Husbandry shall only be considered for admission
• Candidates who meet the above qualification must appear any of the MAT Tests (May, Sept., Dec.-2014 and February 2015)

Candidates who are willing to take admission to Master of Agri-business Management & Food Technology are required to fill up the NEHU application form enclosing their respective MAT Score

Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Eligibility Criteria for MCA:

• The candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years from a recognized University or Institute.
• Candidate should have passed 10+2 in Mathematics or at graduation having 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST candidates)
• Candidates having passed Computer Science or Computer Applications at the degree level will be giving 5% marks

M.Tech Programme Eligibility Criteria:

Information Technology (IT):

Candidates should have passed B.E/B.Tech in IT/CSE/ECE/EE or MCA or M.Sc in Computer Science /Electronics and must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST candidates).

GATE qualified candidates will be given preference.

Electronic Communication Engineering (ECE):

Applicants must have passed B.E/B.Tech in ECE/EE or M.Sc degree in Electronics secured at least 60% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates).

GATE qualified candidates will be given due weightage.

Nanotechnology:

A candidates who have passed B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree in Nanotechnology/Biotechnology /Biomedical / Electrical/Biochemical/Chemical/Energy/Electronics/Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering having 60% marks or 6.5 credit in 10 points scale and M.Sc in Nanoscience/ Physics / Material science /Chemistry/ Biotechnology / Electronics and allied courses having 60% marks or 6.5 credit in 10 point scale (relaxation by 5% marks for SC/ST candidates)

GATE qualified candidates will be given appropriate weightage. Students appearing for final year are eligible to apply

Master of Law (LLM)

Eligibility for Law:

Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (for General candidates) and 50% marks (for SC/ST candidates) in LLB degree or its equivalent exam. The Entrance test will be held on 18th August 2015.

PhD Programme in:

(i) Information Technology (IT) (ii) Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) (iii) Nanotechnology (iv) Management (v) Law

Eligibility for PhD in Law: Candidates must have secured 55% marks (for General candidates) and 50% marks (for SC/ST candidates) in LL.M degree. The Entrance Test will be held on 13th May 2015.

Selection for admission to PhD programme in the above mentioned Departments will be as per rules of the University.

How to Apply for NEHU, Shillong Courses?

Prospectus with prescribed application forms can be obtained from the Receptionist, Administrative Building, Permanent Campus, Shillong-793022 or from the office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura-794002 during the office timing on payment of Rs.600/- for general and Rs.300/- (for SC/ST category) through University Challan or can be downloaded from the University Website www.nehu.ac.in and payment should be through e-challan.

The Prospectus/application form fee is not reimbursable

The admission forms may be downloaded from NEHU Website www.nehu.ac.in and filled-in application form along with the copy of e-challan of the same amount can be sent to the respective Head of Departments, NEHU, Permanent Campus, Mawkynroh-Umshing, Shillong-793022 or NEHU, Tura Campus, Chandmari, Tura-794002

In case of B.Tech Admission, filled-in application form enclosing the e-challan of the same amount can be sent to the Chairman, Central B.Tech Admission Committee, School of Technology, NEHU, Shillong-793022 (Meghalaya).

NEHU, Shillong Admissions 2015 Important Dates:

Last date for submission of application form for admission to B.Arch has been extended upto 30th June 2015.

Application received after the specified date will not be entertained
