Annamalai University started Directorate of Distance Education in 1979 for providing education in Arts, Science, Law, management and commerce etc. The programmes offered by DDE are approved by Distance Education Council; New Delhi and Education Degree programmes are approved by National Council for Teachers Education.
It provides Masters of Arts in the following streams:
- English
- History
- Economics
- Tamil
- Sociology
- Political Science & Public Administration
- Management
And M.A Lateral Entry in the following stream:
- English
- Economics
- Sociology
Duration:
The duration of M.A Course is 2 years and M.A Lateral Entry is 1 year.
Annamalai University Distance M.A/ M.A (LE) Eligibility:
The candidates applying for Distance M.A/M.A (LE) programme should have:
- For M.A (General Entry):Â Any bachelor degree in relevant stream but for English, Bachelor in Tamil language is not applicable
- For Lateral Entry: the candidates passed in 1st year of any PG degree with 75% of course study in the relevant stream
Note: the admissions to M.A lateral entry course will be directly made by Directorate of Distance Education only; the candidates have to submit Photostat of Mark-sheets and Certificates alongwith the required certificates alongwith the application form and fees.
Annamalai University Distance M.A Application forms:
The application forms can be obtained by the following modes:
- In person: the forms can be obtained from the Directorate or Study centres/ Information centres on payment of INR 100
- By post: the can also be obtained by sending a request for application for the specific programme with a DD of INR 150; drawn in favor of "The Director, DDE, Annamalai University" on the following address:
