As a major shocker, the Graduate Management Admission Council, official administrator, nullified the GMAT score for 133 aspirants. Out of these, 108 are Indian students whereas the rest are from North America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Around 7,000 management programs of reputed business schools like Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Tuck School of Business and Indian School of Business reckon on the GMAT exam.

133 people were found guilty in an investigation driven by Delhi Police back in January. Also, the GMAC officials stated that they are cooperating with Law Enforcement authorities in India in the case concerning inquiry.

These students will no longer be eligible to take any future exam conducted by GMAC and any score attained in previous exams would not hold any value.

Ashok Sarathy, Vice President, product management operations, GMAC stated that the authority has canceled the scores of 133 candidates on finding test security violations, specifically proxy-test taking. It happens when someone else sits for the exam on behalf of the candidate.

Although many cases were reported in the past for cancellation of scores or violation of test-security policies, this is the first time when things have been discovered on such a large scale.

GMAC does not wish to disclose the measures being taken by the authority as the investigation follows, Ashok Sarathy quoted, “we will continue to adapt as technologies and techniques evolve to ensure that schools remain confident in the validity of test scores”.
