New Delhi:  The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has announced in an official letter that Class 10, 12, and other students who missed the first-term test would be given a chance to retake it during the second term.

The school reports that a number of pupils did not show up for the Term 1 SSC and HSSC exams in November 2022 without giving a good explanation. "This subject was fully discussed in the examination meeting held on March 3, 2023, in the board's office," said the board's official memo.

"For any explanation, the applicant will receive no credit for the first term if they fail to show up for the test. But, as a one-time gesture, they will be allowed to take the Second-Term Exam "the circular added.

Additionally, the board further specified that in the event the student is missing for the second term it would be classified as absent in that subject and thus the final score will be labelled as 'Needs Improvement'. Students who received the "Needs Improvement" comment must take the additional test.

"Furthermore, it has been agreed that the complete curriculum will be used for the SSC/HSSC Supplemental Examinations beginning in June or July 2023. Moreover, no credits from the First or Second Term Exams will transfer to the Supplemental Exam "GBSHSE is also included.

According to the board, the material will be given weight in accordance only with the model that was in effect in March 2020 for the supplemental test question paper. For all repeating applicants, which includes those who took the Class 10, and 12 tests in April 2023 but failed, the resolution on the whole syllabus in the extra exam is relevant.
