The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has announced the deferral of the Indian Certificate for Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) semester 1 examination 2021-2022.
In a circular to school principals, CISCE chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon claimed that the decision was made owing to reasons "beyond" their control.
The official notice states,” The CISCE has decided to postpone the ICSE and ISC year 2021-22 semester 1 examination due to reasons beyond our control. All stakeholders will be informed of the revised schedule of the examination in due course of time".
The reason for delaying the first semester examinations has not been divulged by the council. An updated timetable for ICSE and ISC examinations, on the other hand, will be announced in due course.
The first term exam for both the ICSE and the ISC was set to commence on November 15, 2021. The examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 were set to complete on December 6 and 16, respectively.
Earlier this year, the CISCE suspended the Class 10 and 12 examinations due to the second wave of Covid 19. The results were later announced using other evaluation criteria.
Earlier this year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the CISCE stated that board examinations will be held twice this year. The 2021-22 session's overall syllabus has likewise been split into two parts. While the final result will be announced based on the grades earned in both semesters.
Candidates are recommended to visit the CISCE official website (https://www.cisce.org/) frequently for exam updates.
