New Delhi: IGNOU has virtually launched Online Masters of English Programme abbreviated as MEGOL. It has also launched a new online BA Course in Sanskrit and Urdu. Both the courses will be available from the January session.

IGNOU MA in English Course: Details

The online Masters of English Programme of IGNOU is a 2-year postgraduate level programme, which will be offered by the School of Humanities under Indira Gandhi National Open University.

The course will be offered in both January and July sessions. Interested candidates must note that the minimum eligibility is to hold a bachelor's degree or higher degree in relevant subjects from a recognized university.

IGNOU Launches New Online MA and BA Courses

IGNOU has opened the registration window and has invited interested candidates to apply for the online MA in English programme.

Earlier in August, the University had launched the online MA course in Journalism and Mass Communication in the presence of Professor Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU and other eminent media academicians.

While delivering the inaugural address, Rao said that the quality of journalism education from IGNOU has provided equal opportunities for national and international students.

Further, the MAJMC Online programme is futuristic, which will encompass all the core areas of journalism and mass communication.

Apart from English, the University will also launch MAJMC in regional languages such as Hindi and other languages, Rao added.

IGNOU BA in Sanskrit and Urdu: Details

The School of Humanities, IGNOU, has launched Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Sanskrit (BASKH) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Urdu (BAUDH). These BA courses will be offered by IGNOU from the January 2022 admission session.

During the launch of these courses, Nageshwar Rao, vice chancellor, IGNOU, said that many Urdu words are used by everyone in their daily lives and it is the amalgamation of these languages that makes Indian culture unique.

Candidates interested in applying for BA courses in Urdu and Sanskrit can access the admission portal of the university at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in and register for the respective programmes.

Recently, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and IGNOU collaborated and signed an MoU to link vocational education and training with higher education.

IGNOU Launches Online Bachelor of Social Work Program Register by Jan 31st 2022

The objective of the agreement is to create avenues for work opportunities for India’s youth and to strengthen the vocational and technical training framework.

According to the official IGNOU statement, a total of 32 NSTIs, 3000 ITIs, 500 PMKKs and 300 JSS will be associated with the varsity as registration, examination, and work centres.

The project steering committee of IGNOU will continually monitor and review the progress of the programme. The committee will include representatives from both – the varsity and the skill ministry. The MoU has been signed for a period of ten years and is subject to renewal on mutual agreement.
